Two-Layer Structure

BasedBlocks runs on a unique two-layer architecture:

  1. Virtual Blocks (Off-Chain): Off-chain proof and hashing challenges tailored to individual users. Unlike Bitcoin’s global ledger, each user receives a unique dataset to hash. The goal is not to maintain a shared ledger, but to distribute BBSV tokens fairly across all participants through challenge-based mining.

  2. Real Blocks (On-Chain): Only claimed virtual blocks are written to the blockchain as real BasedBlocks. These blocks issue BBSV rewards and help construct the on-chain network. Unclaimed blocks are discarded, keeping the chain lightweight and efficient.
